Description

The meteorology station, which you have connected, is a system, which demonstrates the possibilities of using the new network technology when it comes to making the measurement data available to general public. The station was built basing on the climate parameter sensors - produced mostly by us: new electronic devices with high reliability and accurate metrology parameters. Each one of those devices has a simple digital interface, which minimizes the cost and complications associated with installation. They are also very resistant to any transmission errors.

The station consists of:

The station has a user interface, which is based on the http protocol, uses html and JavaScript 1.0 languages - read by the popular HTML viewers: Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer. For the older versions of the HTML viewers (NN < 4, IE < 3), and other (Lynx, Opera, ...) the pages were designed without using the JavaScript.

Using freeware software lowers the system's total cost and offers possibilities of obtaining easy done modifications and adjustment for specific requirements. Network software resources available for the Linux platform (usually obtained under the GPL license) compared to commercial operational systems, are unquestionably bigger and available with sources. Using the standard TCP/IP mechanism allows on integration with the Windows environment, mainly straight access to the measurement data using the ODBC drivers or integration at the filesystem level using the Samba package.
